Tickets: Sudha’s concert is part of the Wesleyan University Navaratri Festival, and is co-sponsored by the
Raga Club and Wesleyan Navaratri. Raga members are eligible for one free ticket and may purchase
three tickets at a reduced price of $10/ticket. All others pay according to regular Navaratri ticket prices.

Sudha Raghunathan is beloved for her technical excellence and spontaneity as well as her cheerful style. She had her initial training in Carnatic classical vocal music from her mother Choodamani at the early age of nine and then continued training under B. V. Lakshman for a brief period. In 1977, Sudha received the Central Government Scholarship for young artistes for advanced training in Carnatic music for two years. Sudha was fortunate to come under the expert tutelage of the great singer, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt. M.L. Vasanthakumari. Sudha was given an extension of the scholarship for a third year on the basis of her merit. She is a top ranking artiste of the All India Radio, Madras, and performs regularly for the AIR and the Doordarshan. Sudha has many recordings to her credit, and has won over 250 prizes and honors which include music competitions conducted at the State and National levels.
